For too long, "adapted" has meant simplified.
Watered down. A modified worksheet that asks less of a child because somewhere along the way, someone decided in advance what they could handle.
At Reach Every Voice, we believe that's not adaptation. That's a ceiling. And our students deserve better.
Transforming Access is a complete, ready-to-use first grade science curriculum for nonspeaking and partially speaking learners: 67 lessons across 16 units covering physical science, life science, earth science, and engineering design. Every lesson is standards-aligned, scaffolded for critical thinking, and designed so that an educator or parent can open it and teach without spending hours preparing materials first.
Thanks to grant support from The Arc Maryland and the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council, 30 lessons are free for anyone, and the remaining 37 are available at a grant-subsidized price.
What's included in every lesson unit
Materials were developed using REV's scaffolding framework, which presumes competence and invites students to interpret, infer, and think critically. Content was generated with the support of Adaptiverse, an AI platform built on decades of REV's educator-written materials and refined by experienced teachers at every step.
Teacher Script
A guided script with discussion points and reasoning questions at multiple levels of support. Clear and structured for classroom, home, and therapy settings.
Lesson Slides
A visual slide deck that supports reasoning and holds attention, not just presents information. Use digitally or print.
Three Worksheet Versions
Picture Choices, Word Choices, and Full Framework. All three ask the same questions about the same content; only the built-in communication and motor support changes.

Reach Every Voice
Transforming Access materials were created by the educators at Reach Every Voice with the assistance of Adaptiverse, a custom AI built on the expertise of over six decades of special educator experience supporting nonspeaking and partially speaking learners who need and use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). All AI-generated materials are cited, checked by humans, and customized by experienced teachers to ensure quality outcomes.
