New Lessons!

February 20, 2019

We are yet again bracing for snow here at the REV office in Maryland. Hopefully all of you are enjoying whatever weather this winter has brought you! No matter what, winter provides opportunities to get warm and cozy while working on our skills.

This month, we've got some special lessons. Two of our lessons are written by Dustin, an #actuallyautistic curriculum writer at Reach Every Voice. You can see his lessons on the Academy Awards and on King Arthur below. We also have two great debates this month; one is a lesson on minimum wage and whether or not it should be increased, and the other is a debate on if people should become vegetarian.  Rounding out our offerings is a fantastic split-stencil biography of Billie Holiday, perfect for tying into Black History Month lessons.

Here's what is new in our library this month:

  • History of the Academy Awards

  • Should People Become Vegetarian?

  • Should the Minimum Wage be Raised?

  • The Legend of King Arthur

  • Who is Billie Holiday? (designed for making choices or using split-alphabet stencil)

The premiere achievement to be given in the film industry, the Oscar, is presented in many categories each year during the Academy Awards. Find out more about the history behind these awards, who can win them, and the mystery behind how "Oscar" got his name.
