October 19, 2018

Here in Maryland, the weather has FINALLY changed from summer to fall. It's a good time of the year to cozy up with a lesson.

This month, we have some fall-themed and other fun topics. Fall means Halloween and football! Learn about the history of Halloween customs and explore the basics of football. We continue adding to our biographies with another strong woman, teacher & astronaut Christa McAuliffe. If you're feeling scientific, check out our lessons on moons and dinosaurs.

Here's what is new in our library this month:

  • Christa McAuliffe (teacher & astronaut)

  • History of Halloween

  • Introduction to Dinosaurs

  • What is a Moon?

  • Introduction to Football? (designed for making choices or using split-alphabet stencil)

Christa McAuliffe was an educator chosen among thousands of applicants as part of the "Teacher in Space" program to become an astronaut. Learn about her life and legacy in this biography.
