Saturdays: 11:00 a.m - 12:00 pm (ET) September 16, 2023 - October 21, 2023 Spellers & Typers Playwriting Workshop Emma’s back! We’re thrilled to re-introduce our popular Institute Instructor and past teacher of online writing classes! Join state-certified English teacher Emma Sheffer on Saturdays at 11 am Eastern to explore the elements of playwriting over six weeks. We will be learning about the historical background of how a play is constructed, and ultimately students will write their own piece of theater (scenes or one-act plays). This course is unique in its exploration of dialogue and performance from a non-verbal perspective, as well as in the creation of original work to reflect students' unique experiences. Activities will include spelling key terms relating to each week's lesson, open-ended writing prompts, and collaborative storytelling. Unlock your creativity and get theatrical!

Cancellation Policy

Online course refunds will be considered up to one week before the course begins. A 5% processing fee will be subtracted from the refund amount. Refunds will be considered at 50% during the week leading up to a course start date. After a course begins, no refunds will be given. By purchasing this course, you agree to our refund policy. To cancel or reschedule individual consults, please contact us 24 hours in advance. Any no-shows or consultations cancelled less than 24 hours in advance will be subject to the full fee for the time booked.
