Elizabeth Michaels

Communication Teacher

Liz Michaels works with students who point and type to communicate, or are learning to point reliably. She is committed to collaborating with students, families, and schools to privilege the voices and lived experiences of students who have not had a reliable and sustainable means of communication. Prior to joining REV, Liz received training in best practices in communication support from the Institute on Communication and Inclusion at Syracuse University, the Hussman Institute for Autism, and Growing Kids Therapy Center. She has also assisted research in which parent-child pairs learned to use AAC and taught visual art to adults and children in a variety of non-profit settings. Liz holds a BA in Studio Art from Vassar College. Liz is currently pursuing a Master's degree at Syracuse University but continues to work with students and families when she is in the area.
